By using words like “love”, “peace”, and “Joy” and you increase cognitive reasoning, strengthen and stimulate frontal lobes, activate motivational centers of the brain, reduce depression symptoms, increase optimism and positively influence the way one perceives self/reality. ?On the flip side, the use of negative words reduces neurostransmitters necessary for stress management.? They increase activity in the fear center of the brain and cause stress hormones to flood our bodies which then interrupts (literally shuts down) the logic and reasoning process of the brain. . Bottom line, by focusing and reflecting on positive language, thoughts, feelings, and emotions, we can improve our overall well-being and increase the functionality of our brain.?
